CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Aug. 6.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Edward Houston, 28, of East Walnut Street, Clearfield. Houston is wanted for failure to appear at pretrial conferences July 19.
On Dec. 20, 2011, Trooper Kimberly Ronan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging Houston with forgery and access device fraud.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Ronan states that in October 2011, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into the identity theft of an elderly woman. Upon investigation it was found that a credit card had been unlawfully opened in the victim’s name, and Houston used the credit card and forged the name of the victim on eight separate occasions.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 11 at which time all charges were held for court. On July 19, Houston failed to appear for pretrial conferences and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Houston is described as follows a Caucasian male, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He has red hair and hazel eyes.
