CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man was flown to the Altoona Hospital for medical treatment after being pulled beneath an all-terrain vehicle operated by another Clearfield man who was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred at 11:02 p.m. Saturday on Mount Joy Road.
The Lawrence Township Police Department reported that the men were traveling on an ATV when the passenger’s leg became wrapped up in a tow strap that was attached to the ATV. The strap subsequently pulled the passenger beneath the ATV and he was dragged along the roadway.
The passenger was treated at the scene and flown to the Altoona Hospital. The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested.
The driver was also on probation and housed at the Clearfield County Jail. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Charges will be filed against the driver.
