William Irvin Gourley, 61, of Curwensville, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center West.
Born May 4, 1951 in Clearfield, he was the son of Clifford Charles “Kip” and Evelyn Smeal (McCormick) Gourley. Mr. Gourley was the president and chief executive officer of Kip’s Bus Service Inc. of Curwensville. He was a member of the Grampian Lions Club and also the Pennsylvania School Bus Association.
Surviving is his life partner Jan (Boffenmyer) Rowles, two step-children, Mary Clyde and her husband, “Pood” of Curry Run and Burleigh Rowles of Brampton, Ontario, Canada and two step-grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Bloom.
Also surviving are a brother and three sisters, Betsy Fogelsonger and her husband, Jeff of Lawrenceville, Lisa Litz and her husband, Denny of Holidaysburg, Scott Gourley of Bells Landing, Jill Keller and her husband, Steve of Curwensville and nine nieces and nephews, Alex, Shadd, Lacey, Nick, Tyler, Jilissa, Janelle, Jacob, and Jocelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Curwensville Alliance Church, Susquehanna Avenue, Curwensville, with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at which time the procession will depart for the church.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Habitat For Humanity of Clearfield County, 138 East Long Ave. DuBois, PA 15801-2125.
