CLEARFIELD – PennDOT is advising drivers that a section of Interstate 80 westbound remains closed in Clearfield County near Exit 111 at Penfield. PennDOT expects to re-open the roadway by 3:30 p.m. today.
Crews are on the roadway clearing debris at this time. A morning tractor-trailer fire necessitated the closure.
Traffic is being routed using the blue detour. Vehicles will exit I-80 westbound at the 120/Clearfield interchange and follow Route 879 west to Route 322 west/Route 153 north and back to I-80 westbound at the 111/Penfield interchange.
Drivers should be alert for stopped or slowed traffic along I-80 and as traffic exits and re-enters the highway.
