Magician, Comedian and Balloon Artist John Cassidy amused young children and even their parents with his “bizarre antics” during his Kid’s Day performances Tuesday on the David H. Litz Grove Stage at the Clearfield County Fair.
Cassidy began his magic tricks and balloon sculpting career at children’s birthday parties, where their parents thought he was “hilarious and ingenious.” But, according to his web site, he’s now among the most requested acts throughout the world.
In addition, he’s been named one of the funniest comedy magicians working today by MAGIC Magazine. Not to mention, the Guinness Book of World Records has documented him as the world’s fastest balloon sculptor.
Currently, Cassidy’s record for the Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Hour stands at 747 inflated and twisted within the course of a mere 60 minutes. He holds three additional balloon speed sculpting Guinness World Records.
Further, he’s claimed records for the Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Minute, Most Modeling Balloons Inflated in One Hour and the Fastest Balloon Sculpture.
All of his most recent records were witnessed and verified by representatives from Guinness World Records. His records have been featured in the editions for 2005 and 2007 through 2009, according to his web site.
Cassidy has made numerous TV appearances, such as “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “The Today Show,” The CBS Early Show, the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, “Martha Stewart Living” and “Live with Regis and Kelly.”
Cassidy’s been honored to have performed at the White House twice.
