RUSH TOWNSHIP – Two teen boys are facing drug charges after being stopped by the Philipsburg-based state police at 12:40 a.m. July 24 along U.S. Route 322 at Belair Lane in Rush Township.
More specifically, an 18-year-old West Decatur boy is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. A 17-year-old Philipsburg boy is facing charges of possession of a contro15lled substance and drug paraphernalia. Neither boy was identified by state police.
State police conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Caravan after observing several equipment and traffic violations. Upon making contact with the driver, they observed “nervous behavior” and obtained “conflicting stories” about their travels.
One passenger appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, state police said. State police received consent to search the vehicle, which yielded a plastic baggy containing marijuana.
State police also found an orange and blue glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue as well as small plastic baggies commonly used for packaging marijuana.
