COOPER TOWNSHIP – No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 12:50 p.m. Monday along Interstate 80 westbound and east of Winburne Road in Cooper Township, the Clearfield-based state police reported.
Sanjay I. Dasai, 49, of Elgin, IL was traveling in the right-hand lane of I-80 at mile marker 136.6 when a deer ran into the roadway from the right-hand side. The Dasai vehicle struck the deer, causing major damage to the vehicle.
Neither Desai nor his three passengers, Kirit D. Patel, 72, of Rockford, IL; Khusbu S. Dasai, 13, of Elgin, IL; and Manisha S. Patel, 47, of Elgin, IL were injured in the mishap. All four were wearing their seatbelts.
The Desai vehicle was towed from the scene.
