UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State football fans who want to guarantee their seats for Penn State’s clashes with Ohio State, Wisconsin, Navy and all seven home opponents can still do so for a limited time before single game sales begin later this month.
Head coach Bill O’Brien and the Nittany Lions will host five bowl teams from 2011, playing 10 bowl teams overall, with Northwestern (Homecoming), Ohio and Temple joining the Buckeyes and Badgers as bowl teams visiting Beaver Stadium this fall. The season opener vs. Ohio is Sept. 1 and two weeks later, Navy’s first visit to Beaver Stadium since 1974 is Military Appreciation Day.
More than 3,400 new season tickets have been sold for the 2012 campaign, more than doubling last season’s new season ticket count, and the price of season tickets remains the same as 2011 at $385 for the season ($55 per game). Approximately 94 percent of 2011 Nittany Lion season ticket holders have renewed their seats for the coming season. Penn State annually has one of the nation’s largest season ticket bases, which includes 21,000 full season student tickets.
Season tickets remain available in all seating zones of Beaver Stadium. Fans that have not already applied for 2012 season tickets can get information or apply online at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets or by calling a Penn State Athletics Ticket Sales Representative at 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase public single game tickets for the upcoming football season starting on Friday, July 27. The sale will begin at 10:00 a.m. with tickets available at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets. Fans can also purchase single game tickets by calling 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269) beginning at 10 a.m. on the 27th. All tickets made available to the public will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pricing for single game tickets has changed for the coming year to better reflect the per game pricing of a season ticket, which beginning with the 2011 season incorporated a Nittany Lion Club per seat donation amount. Those amounts, based on seat locations in Beaver Stadium, have been applied to the per game ticket price in order to protect the value to all season ticket holders and the NLC priority point system. The price for Blue Zone public single game tickets remains the same as the last two seasons.

Green Zone (lower midfield) – Not available Black Zone (between 30-yard lines) – $140 per ticket Red Zone (10 to 30-yard lines) – $110 per ticket Blue Zone (end zones to 10-yard-lines) – $70 (bench) and $74 (chairback) per ticket
"This pricing allows us to offer tickets to the general public in all seating areas while assuring that the season ticket and donation commitments that our Nittany Lion Club members have made are not devalued or compromised," explained Associate Athletic Director Greg Myford. "This change greatly highlights the value of joining the Nittany Lion Club and being a season ticket holder, while still offering single game tickets to the public."
Public single game ticket locations are made available after all season ticket and Nittany Lion Club single game ticket purchase assignments have been made.
Advance parking for each game can be purchased as part of the ticket sale as well. General parking purchased in advance is $10, while paying to park on game day when arriving to the general lots will cost $40. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking passes in advance to not only realize the substantial savings, but to assist in smoother traffic and parking operations as well.
O’Brien’s squad returns 34 letterwinners and nine starters for the upcoming season, as well as 16 players that have starting experience.
