RIDGWAY – A Ridgway Township shed fire has been ruled as arson, according to the Ridgway-based state police. The fire occurred at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday at 3162 Grant Rd.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Ridgway Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire damaged a 10-foot by 12-foot wooden frame shed.
The fire was ruled as arson and isn’t connected to other arson incidences, which started May 30 in Elk County, state police said. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Damage was minimal.
State police said a 12-year-old boy was responsible for igniting the fire. The boy was left in the custody of his father, and the victim opted not to pursue charges against the boy.
The shed belonged to Richard Dush, 55, of Ridgway.
