CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw Jr. has announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.
Shaw identified the defendant as Daniel Dillen, 25, of Glendale Valley Boulevard, Fallentimber. Dillen was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list July 16.
On March 26, Trooper David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed six criminal complaints, charging Dillen with burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
The criminal complaints provide that in December 2011 and January 2012, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into six separate burglaries that occurred in Beccaria Township, Chest Township, Houtzdale Borough and Coalport Borough. Upon further investigation, it was found that Dillen and four other suspects had broken into several area businesses, a camp and the Glendale Sportsmen’s Club. Dillen and his conspirators unlawfully removed more than $11,000 worth of items from the various locations.
A preliminary hearing was held May 2 at which time all charges were held to court. On July 12, Dillen failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw stated that on July 16, information regarding Dillen’s location was obtained and he was apprehended by deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. Dillen is currently lodged in the Clearfield County jail.
Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.
