Michael Joseph Domitrovich, 98, DuBois died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Christ the King Manor. Born Sept. 20, 1913, he was the son of the late Adam and Frances (Bubash) Domitrovich.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II in the 191st Tank Battalion.
Mr. Domitrovich was the owner/operator of Mike’s Sunoco on Liberty Boulevard in DuBois for more than 20 years. Previously, he worked at Superior Meter in Punxsutawney and Rockwell International Manufacturing in DuBois and Sykesville. After retirement, he also worked at Kohlhepp True Value.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Polish Citizens Club and was a life member of the James J. Patterson Post #813 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed walking and gardening.
On Jan. 17, 1942, he married Josephine (Strosky) Domitrovich at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She survives.
He is survived by his two sons, James M. Domitrovich and his wife, Sue Dauer of The Villages, FL and Michael J. Domitrovich and his wife, Christine of Matthews, NC; his sister, Mary Nedrick of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, James Domitrovich Jr., Michael Smith, Amanda Domitrovich and Katie Domitrovich; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Williams and Barb Klebacha; one brother, George Domitrovich; and one grandchild, Beth Domitrovich.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Friday at the Christ the King Manor Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the Christ the King Manor Chapel with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the Christ the King Manor Chapel.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
