Eric Edward Boring Sr., 46, of Pittsburgh and formerly of DuBois died Monday, July 16, 2012 at his Pittsburgh residence.
On Dec. 22, 1965, he was born to Donna Jean (Snyder) and C. Edward Boring. Both survive their son.
Mr. Boring lived with his fiancée, Cheryl Kurtz with whom he’d been for 15 years. The couple planned to marry as soon became well.
He had a son, Eric Edward Boring Jr. and two brothers. His oldest brother, Scott taught English as a second language in Saudi Arabia and is married to Leonie and has one son, Miguel. His youngest brother, Colonel E. Boring III is deceased. Mr. Boring is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In high school, he participated in all the music activities, which included the marching band, chorus and dynamics. He had a solo voice and sang the lead in a high school musical, South Pacific.
Mr. Boring attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania and played in both the marching and concert bands. At Clarion, he worked toward a degree in computer science. He was active in many local community music events. Later he worked as a computer programmer at Penn Traffic, Mellon Bank and several other Pittsburgh firms. He was a gamer and enjoyed gaming trips to Gen Con conventions.
Viewing will be held from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Christ Lutheran Church located at 875 Sunflower Dr. in DuBois with the Rev. Robert Way officiating.
