ST. MARYS – Another St. Marys fire has been ruled as arson, according to the Ridgway-based state police. The fire was ignited at 4:20 a.m. Saturday at 137 Lynch Road on the south side, just west of its intersection with Nicklas Road.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and the St. Marys City police and fire departments are investigating the origin and cause of the fire. The fire has been ruled an arson, state police said.
In the report, state police identified the victim as Laurie A. Hulings, 44, of St. Marys.
Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to contact the St. Marys Police Department or the Ridgway-based state police barracks.
Early last week, two vehicle fires were ruled as arson in St. Marys.
A camping trailer fire occurred at 11:32 p.m. Monday on North St. Marys Street. The fire destroyed a 1999 Coleman camping trailer that was parked in the residential driveway of Michael Scolari of St. Marys. Scolari owned the trailer.
The fire was ruled an arson and remains under investigation at this time. Damage was estimated at $6,000. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
A second vehicle fire occurred at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday on Rettger Street in St. Marys.
The fire damaged a 1993 Ford Tempo that was parked in the residential driveway of Marcia Salter, of St. Marys. Salter owned the vehicle.
A damage estimate wasn’t provided in the report. No injuries were reported.
