Wyoma C. “Carrie” Carns, 93 of Clearfield, passed away on July 12, 2012 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, PA.
Born on July 4, 1919 in Portage, Cambria County, PA., she was the daughter of Howard and Kathryn (Roudabush) Myers.
Mrs. Carns was a homemaker, who loved to crochet, sew and bake. She especially loved to play “Skippo” with her family and friends. She will always be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was Methodist by faith.
Mrs. Carns is survived by a son, Richard H. Carns and his wife Arlene of Culpepper, VA; a daughter, Patricia Norris and her husband Ronald of Altoona, PA; three grandchildren: Donald J. Norris, Debra Bradshaw and her husband Keith and Jeff Carns and his wife Kelly; four great-grandchildren: Erica, Noah, Luke and Jenny. She is also survived by a twin sister, Wilma Bloom of Clearfield and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph W. Carns, whom she married on July 16, 1939 in Salix, PA and who passed away on May 7, 1986; four brothers: Dean, James, Foster and an infant brother; two sisters, Bernice and Goldie.
Funeral services will be held on July 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 with Rev. Kenneth Leonard officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on July 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services.
