CLEARFIELD – Members of the Clearfield Woman’s Club met recently to finalize plans for an American Red Cross blood mobile on July 16. The blood drive will be held at the Florian Banquet Hall, 321 Mill Rd., Clearfield, from noon to 6:00 p.m.
Club members will act as escorts and man the canteen, which will feature sandwiches, barbeque, fresh fruit, cookies and donuts, and assorted beverages. This is the first community blood drive of the fiscal year for PA Heartland ARC.
According to blood drive chairman Flo Lutz, the goal is 55 units. She said, “All blood types are needed, but the Red Cross has issued a special appeal for whole blood and double red cell donations.” To schedule an appointment, donors can log on at www.redcrossblood.org, click on “Make a Donation Appointment,” and use sponsor code “Clearfield.” Walk-ins are welcome.
