Donald Lee Toot, 86, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2012 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born in Clearfield, on Nov. 17, 1925, one of four children born to Raymond and Emily Jane (Broad) Toot.
Mr. Toot is survived by his sister Elizabeth Jane Toot, a resident of Morristown, TN, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Raymond.
Mr. Toot served with his brothers in the US Army during WWII. He was wounded in the European theater, and was awarded the Purple Heart. A lover of the outdoors and trapping game, he joined the Pennsylvania Forest Service after the War. He was employed by the US Postal Service for many years, and was known among Clearfield residents as Trapper. He was a regular fixture at the Clearfield Diner until its closure. He will be missed by many of his friends and family.
As per Mr. Toot’s wishes, there will be no public services.
