UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State Public Broadcasting has announced that Clearfield will be featured in a future episode of WPSU-TV’s “Our Town” series. The “day-in-the-life” one-hour video scrapbook will capture the people, places and happenings of Clearfield, Pa., as seen through the eyes of its residents.
Community members from the Clearfield area are invited to attend a volunteer planning meeting to learn about the project. The meeting will be held at the Clearfield Hospital Home Health Building, located at 440 Front St. (adjacent to Subway), at 7:00 p.m. on July 26. Anyone interested in the production is invited to attend.
At the meeting, local Clearfield residents will discuss which landmarks, events and local stories to feature in the upcoming program. WPSU-TV will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask community members to volunteer to do their part to help tell the Clearfield story. The volunteer storytellers will work with WPSU-TV to capture video and still photos to feature in the upcoming documentary.
WPSU-TV hopes to recruit 20 to 25 enthusiastic members of the Clearfield community. There are no restrictions as to age, or experience and no cost to participate, just a willingness to be part of the project. WPSU is recruiting longtime residents and those who recently joined the community to help highlight what makes their town special.

The production date will be in August. The program will be broadcast in October, during the station’s on-air membership campaign.
As central Pennsylvania’s public television station serving a very large geographic area, the “Our Town” project was developed in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WPSU-TV. The “Our Town” series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.
“Our Town: Clearfield” will be the 69th production in the series. Previous programs have showcased many towns, including Meyersdale, Kane and Mt Jewett, Bedford, Emporium, Nanty Glo, Curwensville, Bradford, Johnstown, Huntingdon, Mt. Union, DuBois, St. Marys, Lewistown, Warren, Windber, and Olean, NY.
