RIDGWAY – A fire caused an estimated $200,000 worth of damage to a Ridgway Borough residence at 2:58 Sunday and has been ruled an arson, according to the Ridgway-based state police.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Ridgway police and fire departments investigated the origin and cause. The fire damaged a two-story residence located at 429 Walnut Street.
The fire victims were identified as Stephen and Georgina Gausman, 65, of Ridgway. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire and the victims were out-of-town, according to the report.
State police said the fire was ruled an arson and originated on the residence’s rear porch. Damage is estimated at $200,000.
