Helen Mae (Pirow) Harvey, 82 of Newtown, passed away on June 14 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.
Born July 7, 1929, she was the daughter of Michael J., Sr. and Mary R. (Ropchock) Pirow.
She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Levittown and Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Hawk Run; she was a past member of the Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church Altar Society; and she enjoyed reading, following current events and watching televised court procedings.
She was first employed as a registered nurse with the Philipsburg State Hospital, then Clearfield Hospital and in the Harrisburg area. She was most recently employed as a nursing supervisor at Ridge Crest Nursing Home in Feasterville until her retirement in the early 9o’s.
She was a 1947 graduate of the Morris Township High School and a 1950 graduate of the Philipsburg State Hospital Nursing School.
On Oct. 25, 1973 at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, she wed Gilber N. Harvey, who survives at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Michael J. Pirow Jr. She was also preceded in death by two of her three beloved Papillons, Princess and Margot.
She is survived by sisters Rose Marie Fetcenko of Troy; Mary Ann Undercofler of Glendale, AZ and Veronica L. Pirow of Hawk Run; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved Papillon Angel.
Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on June 20 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Hawk Run, the Revs. Peter Benyo, Theodore Mozes, Andrew Bartek and Thomas Blaschak as co-celebrants. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church Cemetery in Hawk Run. Visitation will be on June 20 at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Divine Liturgy.
