Joseph E. Glinsky Sr., 69, of Houtzdale died Friday at the Altoona Regional Health System.
He was born Feb. 27, 1943, at Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Elmer and Betty (Simon) Glinsky, Sr.
Mr. Glinsky retired as a forklift operator at Dynamic Marketing Inc., Brooklyn, NY after six years and prior to that he worked for Cross River Industries of Harrison, NJ for 28 years. He was a school bus driver with the Fullington Bus Co. in the Moshannon Valley School District.
He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Knights of Columbus Council 10376, Houtzdale. He also was a volunteer at the Community Action Senior Citizen Center, Houtzdale.
On June 13, 1964, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, he married Donna K. Myers Glinsky, who survives, of Houtzdale.
He is survived by three sons, Joseph E. Glinsky Jr. and his wife, Doreen of Rahway, NJ; James A., Glinsky and his wife, Tracy of Clark, NJ; and Thomas J. Glinsky and his wife Jolanta, of Linden, NJ.
Mr. Glinsky was a loving grandfather to, Jacci, Kevin, Devin, Adam, Justin and Hailey.
He is survived by two sisters and a brother, Judy Willoughby and her husband, David of Fredricksburg, VA; Sandra Andreani, of New Port Richey, FL; and Elmer Glinsky Jr. of Gainesville, VA.
He is also survived by his faithful companion, Mitzy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Keith.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc. Ramey. Our Lady of the Valley Knights of Columbus will hold a memorial service at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Fr. Stanley J. Swacha as the celebrant.
Graveside services will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
