Respiratory system disorders can leave you tired, weak, breathless and prevent you from enjoying life. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
The Women’s Health Center of DuBois, a service of DuBois Regional Medical Center, is partnering with Clearfield Hospital to offer an educational event from 6 to 8 p.m., on June 28 at Hedges Restaurant in downtown Clearfield.
Called “Laughing Matters,” the program focuses on good lung health and an emphasis on alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency, or AATD. The program is organized and hosted by DRMC as a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network with support provided by Baxter Healthcare Corp., according to Lori Rancik, registered nurse case manager of The Women’s Health Center.
Clearfield Hospital Rehabilitation Department, under the direction of Shelley Spicher, will also participate, and information about the hospital’s pulmonary rehabilitation program, The Better Breathing Center, will be provided.
The program will have health screenings woven throughout the two-hours to emphasize the importance of prevention, awareness and action. Presentations will be given by Dr. Bruno Romeo, lung specialist, and Spicher.
Since a dinner is provided, there is a cost of $10 per person. RSVPs are due to The Women’sHealthCenterby June 21. Please call 371-9666 or send your name, phone number and check to The Women’s Health Center at 100 Hospital Ave.,DuBois, PA.,15801.
