CLEARFIELD – A man accused of stealing a box truck from a local furniture store was in court on Wednesday.
Shae DelGrosso faces charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and related charges.
According to court records, police were called to Rowles Family Furniture on Feb. 6 for a stolen box truck. The owners indicated that the keys may have been left inside the unlocked vehicle.
The vehicle was found on Feb. 8 along Hollow Road, near Lytle Road. Police said the vehicle was driven back a very remote gas well road. A towing company was called in to remove it. Police were informed a large piece of equipment would be needed to remove the vehicle.
Once the vehicle was recovered, it was checked over by a state police forensics team.
Through the course of the investigation, three suspects emerged; DelGrosso and two juveniles. During questioning, one juvenile admitted that he and GelGrosso took the box truck; he told police the other juvenile was scared and not involved.
In a separate case, DelGrosso faces charges of burglary and related charges.
According to court records, police were called to investigate a burglary at the Skate Station. Through their investigation, DelGrosso was identified as a suspect. The affidavit states that $4,300 in damage and loss was caused to the owners of the building, while $1,100 in damage in loss was caused to the owner of the coin machine.
