No injuries were reported following a three-vehicle accident at 3:55 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East Presqueisle and North Fourth streets in Philipsburg Borough. Megan E. Yonushonis, 20, of Philipsburg proceeded without clearance following a stop. She proceeded southbound on Fourth Street through a line of stopped vehicles heading westbound on East Presqueisle Street. Joseph R. Guy, 35, of Lavale, MD was traveling eastbound at the time. Yonushonis drove in front of the Guy vehicle, causing the accident. That impact forced the Yonushonis’ vehicle into that of Amy L. Fraily, 45, of Philipsburg, which was stopped on North Fourth Street. Yonushonis will be cited for stop signs and yield signs.
An incident of simple assault occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday on Lochlomond Road near Black Moshannon State Park in Rush Township. A 30-year-old Philipsburg man allegedly held a 34-year-old Sandy Ridge woman against her will and physically assaulted her. The woman sustained injuries as a result of the altercation. Charges were filed through the district court.
