Lewis G. “Jinx” Shinafelt, 58, of Osceola Mills died Tuesday, May 1 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
He was born March 12, 1954 to the late William A. and Phyllis M (Bookamire) Shinafelt in Philipsburg.
Mr. Shinafelt was of the Protestant faith. He also served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Slovak Club and the St. Anthony’s Society, both in Osceola Mills.
He graduated from the Philipsburg-Osceola Mills High School class of 1972. He was a former mail carrier and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda K. Shinafelt and a brother, Robert W. Shinafelt.
Mr. Shinafelt is survived by a sister, Cathy Timko of Lock Haven and a nephew, Kevin Timko.
A Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills with Pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Military honors will be accorded at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Brisbin.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
