GRAHAM TOWNSHIP – The Clearfield-based state police are probing a two-vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. May 29 along state Route 2030 in Graham Township.
A tan-colored Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on SR 2030 when it crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane for unknown reasons. Herbert C. Folmar, 72, of Curwensville was traveling in the eastbound lane at which time he observed the pick-up traveling directly at him.
Folmar took evasive action and steered his Ford Ranger to its right to avoid a head-on collision. The Folmar pick-up traveled off the southern shoulder, where it struck a tree with its right, rear bed area.
Afterward Folmar drove his pick-up to a safe place and waited for police arrival. The Silverado’s operator fled the area and was last seen traveling westbound on SR 2030.
Folmar was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He wasn’t injured. His pick-up sustained moderate damage.
