RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 40-year-old Osceola Mills man, Shawn Franklin Perks, has been accused of harassing and assaulting an 11-year-old boy the evening of May 28 at a Walnut Street address in Rush Township, the Philipsburg-based state police reported.
According to the report, Perks allegedly grabbed the boy by his neck, lifting him off a loveseat and “man-handled” him. During the alleged incident, the boy fell into a clothes dryer, and in the process, he lost a “baby” tooth on his lower, right jaw.
Perks was arrested today and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Hoffman. His bail was set at $15,000 straight, and he was remanded to the Centre County Jail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 6 at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
