Glenn H. “Pete” Barrett, 82, of Curwensville, passed away May 24, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Barrett was born April 3, 1930 in Kerrmoor, the son of Perry S. and Sadie M. (Wiley) Barrett.
He had worked in the steel industry in New York and retired from the former TAFCO of Clearfield.
Mr. Barrett was a member of the Bells Landing Baptist Church.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict in Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy M. (Spencer) Barrett, whom he married January 26, 1956, five children; Steven G. Barrett and his companion, Jamie Thurston, Glenna M. Donahue and her husband George, Douglas H. Barrett, Gregg L. Barrett and his wife Brenda and Jo-Ella Passmore and her husband Matt all of Curwensville, thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters; Elwood Barrett of Springville, NY, Ruth Witherite of Randolph, NY, Calvin P. Barrett and his wife Virginia of Curwensville, Yvonne Edgar and her husband Gene of Florida, Patricia Witherite of Curwensville, Carol Stiles of Curwensville and Dennis L. Barrett and his wife Nancy of Clearfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Boyd and Delain “Toot” Barrett and a sister, Ethel Barrett.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard. Interment will be in Lumber City Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on May 25 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
