Clyde E. “Ed” Lynch, 81, of West Decatur, passed away on May 22, 2012 at his home.
He was born on July 31, 1930 in West Decatur, PA the son of Clyde E. and Eva (Curley) Lynch.
Mr. Lynch graduated from the Clearfield Area High School in 1948 and in 1955 from Williamsport Tech with a Drafting Certificate and in 1977 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Elmira College.
He was a veteran in the United States Navy having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Lynch retired after 32 years from Corning Glass Works, Corning NY as an Equipment Engineer. He then started raising his beloved cows.
Mr. Lynch volunteered for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging was a one time Vestry Jr. Warden at St Andrews Episcopal Church and was a Master Gardener.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine A. Shabanowitz and her husband, Robert, of Lewisburg, PA and three grandsons: Paul, Michael, and Yuri; two granddaughters: Aliza and Hannah; one great granddaughter, Haelie Jane, and a great grandson to be born in July. He is also survived by a brother Don A. Lynch and his children of Florida, Texas, and Hawaii.
Mr. Lynch is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy Jane (Eberts) Lynch whom he married on June 8, 1951 and who passed away on March 5, 2005 and a son Paul E. Lynch.
At the request of Mr. Lynch there will be no public visitation or services. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him for his great sense of humor and generosity.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 550, Clearfield, PA 16830.
