Charles F. “Honey” Englert, 83, of Houtzdale, passed away at 1:55 a.m.,May 12, 2012 at Mt. Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1929 at the Bronx, NY, a son of the late Charles and Elsie (Fied) Englert.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force and worked as a Security Guard.
On Oct. 4, 1962 at Jackson Heights, NY he married Agnes M. (White) Englert, she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1998.
He was a parishioner of Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale and was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Knights of Columbus Council 10376 Houtzdale where he served as a past Lecturer and Deputy Grand Knight, he also was a member of Pope John Paul II Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus, Clearfield. He also attended the Community Action Senior Citizen Center, Houtzdale and was a stamp and baseball collector and a huge New York Yankees fan.
Charles is survived by a son and two daughters; Charles W. Englert of Traverse City, MI; Joanna M. Thaut and her husband Kevin of East Windsor, NJ; and Mary E. Cusick and her husband Larry of Houtzdale.
He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Maria Miller and her husband David, Nicole Thompson and her husband Gene, Tyler Wilkinson and Kahlan Thaut; and four great grandchildren, BriannaThompson, Mali Thompson, Aaralyn Thompson and Lilly Weston.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by a grandson, Lance John Cusick on May 13, 2003.
At Charles request there will be no public visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, on May 18 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Zab Amar as celebrant. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Action Senior Citizen Center, Houtzdale. Condolences may be sent to condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com. Â
