Ethel “Irene” Sheldon, age 86, of West Garfield Avenue in DuBois, PA died May 7, 2012 at her residence.
Born on April 14, 1926 in Reynoldsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald & Irene (Newberry) Barry.
On July 17, 1944, she married William “Red” E. Sheldon, Jr. in Reynoldsville. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2009.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lakeside United Church and was a member of the Ladies League at the Owens Brockway Golf Course.
She is survived by her children, William Gerald Sheldon and his wife, Linda of Reynoldsville, PA, Carol Ann Smith of DuBois, PA and Janice Manfredo and her husband, John of DuBois, PA, a sister, Shirley Rutkowski of Erie, PA, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parent, her husband and her brother, Robert Jack Barry.
Visitation will be held on May 9 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on May 10 at 11 a.m. from Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Zilhaver and Pastor Mary Ellen Bullock co-officiating.
Burial will be in Reynoldsville Cemetery.
