Donald Joseph Kitko, 60 of Altoona and formerly of Beccaria, died on May 6 at his residence. He was the son of Donald A. and Mary Ann (Franko) Kitko. Mr. Kitko was a 1969 graduate of Glendale High School where he played football and basketball. He attended St. Francis College in Loretto.
He worked as a laborer and was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Ramey where he served as an alter boy in his younger years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar racing, horse racing and especially enjoyed the Kentucky Derby.
Mr. Kitko is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Kitko, Beccaria, his companion of 15 years, Shirley Graffius, Altoona, Electa, whom he loved as a granddaughter, his sister Marijo, wife of Doug Washburn, of Collegeville, PA; his brother, Kenneth C. Kitko, of Beccaria, PA, three neices, Chelsea Mary, Anna Jane and Christina Don Washburn all of Collegeville, PA and numerous uncles and aunts.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald A. Kitko, paternal grandparents Andrew Sr. and Margaret Kitko, maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Franko and numerous uncles and aunts.
Friends will be received at the Kruise Funeral Homes, Inc., 2550 Union St., Ramey on May 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thurs., May 10 from 9-10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, PA, with Fr. Zab Amar officiating on May 10 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery Ramey, PA.
