On April 28, the Moshannon Valley Community Education Foundation/Alumni Association sponsored a 5k Walk/Run. The event was held on the Houtzdale Line Rails to Trails behind Kruise Funeral Home in Ramey and proceeded for half the 5k distance towards Houtzdale and then a return to the starting point to finish. 48 walkers and 30 runners participated in the event.

Funds raised are allocated to the construction of the Moshannon Valley Jr./Sr. High School Alumni wall which will be built in the front of the high school building. The design of the wall was created by landscape architect Andrea Walstrom-Crossett, MV Class of ’98. Bricks can be purchased for living or deceased alumni of the Moshannon Valley School Jr./Sr. High School. The cost is $50.00 per brick. Up to three lines can be engraved on the bricks with a maximum character limit of 16 in each row. They can be purchased by contacting Caryn Southern, 378-8715.
