Christine “Teeny” Yarger, born in the home of her parents, Thomas and Mary (Makepeace) Delong of Brisbin, died in her home on Tuesday.
Born July 13, 1923, she was born again sixteen years later at the Brisbin First Church of God.
She adored and honored her parents. She cherished her childhood years as a time of youthful happiness and of knowing what it was to be loved and live in a happy home.
The love of her parents and the heart changing Love of Christ were formative to the person she would become.
A child of the Roaring 1920’s and Great Depression of the 1930’s, she found herself as a young woman married with children just at the time her husband was called to service during World War II.
She always marveled at how naive she was beginning this venture we call life.
She loved being a homemaker and doing all the things we hear they had to do in those years. A servant at heart, all of the hard work had become to her as natural as breathing.
The long years ahead were filled with suffering and joy. She remained a lover of life and humanity. Her passion was for others to meet and be transformed by the Christ she knew. “Teeny” in stature she was, but the long years of following the way of Christ made the little English Lady a wonderful reflection of the Christ she loved.
All of her family has been blessed to have had her for so long and she is already sorely missed having died surrounded by her family in her home in Brisbin.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally Rudy and her husband, Stephen of Brisbin; two sons, Paul Yarger and his wife, Jodie of Brisbin and Rev. Mark Yarger and his wife, Debra of Elizabethtown; two daughter–in-laws, Dianne Yarger of Brisbin and Patty Yarger of DuBois.

She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Yarger of Sanborn and Dora Jean Sweely and her husband, Larue of Logantown and a brother-in-law Micheal Shutak of Pittsburgh.
