One person sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident at 5 p.m. Sunday along Interstate 99 at mile marker 56.6 in Taylor Township, Centre County. A vehicle operated by Mabel J. Miller, 52, of Wellsboro was parked along the right-hand berm, while a vehicle operated by a 23-year-old State College woman was traveling northbound on I-99. For unknown reasons, the latter woman’s vehicle drifted off the roadway and sideswiped the Miller vehicle. After impact the latter woman’s vehicle spun and slid sideways off the roadway for approximately 120 feet before striking a concrete culvert, which caused her vehicle to overturn. The State College woman sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. Neither Miller nor her two passengers were injured. The State College woman will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 1:20 a.m. Saturday in the AmVets parking lot on West Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A rear, driver’s side window was smashed out of a 42-year-old Philipsburg woman’s 2001 Nissan Sentra. Afterward the person(s) removed a brown and green purse that contained two digital cameras, approximately $140 in cash, several credit cards and the woman’s driver’s license.
