An internet scam was reported to police after a township resident had been contacted by a female who was from another country. The female was asking for money. All residents are urged not to send any U.S. currency or provide anyone with personal information.
Nicholas Rumsey of Curwensville was arraigned for burglary, theft and numerous other charges. These charges stemmed from a burglary that occurred on March 21 at the Clearfield Skate Station. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland and incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail. His bail was set at $50,000.
A disabled tractor-trailer was reported along state Route 879.
A vehicle fire was reported on Village Road. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered it was a lawn tractor. Police were assisted at the scene by the Hyde Fire Department.
A female was assisted after she’d locked herself out of her residence. Police were assisted by the locksmith.
A phone scam was reported to police after a caller told a resident that their grandson was in trouble in another country. The caller requested the resident to send money.
Extra patrols were requested from a local business on the Clearfield – Shawville Highway, while unknown suspects have been depositing debris in the parking lot area.
A burning complaint was reported on Mount Joy Road. Police arrived and spoke with the individual who had the fire and they put it out.
An incident of trespass was reported to police. An unwanted male was asked to leave a victim’s property, and they complied. Police cleared the scene without further incident.
Police were dispatched for a child custody matter, which has been temporarily resolved.
A Lock Haven student was assisted after they’d locked their keys inside their car.
