An incident of theft was reported Saturday by a Williams Street woman. She told police she’d allowed a friend to move in with her but when her friend moved out she removed clothing and personal items not belonging to her. The incident remains under investigation.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday, a woman reported that her vehicle was struck at the intersection of East Scribner Avenue and Rose Alley, while she was attempting park. The woman exited her vehicle to exchange information, but the other driver fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a white sedan, and the driver is believed to be younger.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded for a vehicle spinning its tires and causing a disturbance in the 100 block of Evergreen Street. Police located the vehicle leaving the area and when caught up, the driver parked it and fled on foot through backyards on West Long Avenue. Police weren’t able to locate the male but located drugs in the area which he fled. The vehicle was impounded and later reported as stolen.
At 2:12 a.m. Sunday, a one-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Maple and East Park avenues. During the investigation, a 42-year-old Clearfield man was taken into custody for suspected DUI. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Police were assisted by DuSan Ambulance and the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department.
A purse was reported stolen at 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the Eastside Sports Bar. A Curwensville woman told police that when leaving the establishment she noticed her purse was stolen from the bar, and her windshield to her Mitsubishi was smashed, and it had been keyed. The incident remains under investigation.
On Sunday, an East Second Avenue woman reported that her 1997 Ford Explorer was stolen from her driveway. The woman reported she’d left the keys in the ignition, and the vehicle was unlocked. The vehicle has been recovered; the investigation is ongoing at this time.
A domestic disturbance occurred Sunday at the McCloyd Terrace, while a couple was allegedly arguing over their 10-week-old child. Police learned the woman was suffering from postpartum depression, and she was referred help. The baby was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center and medically cleared. No charges are pending.
A domestic disturbance was reported Sunday between two females in the 600 block of Juniata Street. Police learned the altercation was mutual, and there weren’t any injuries. Neither wanted charges filed.
A burglary alarm was reported Sunday at the Tractor Supply Store on Beaver Drive. The building was found to be secure, and it was an accidental trip.
On Sunday, a resident of the 400 block of South Church Street located a stray dog. Police were able to return the dog to its owner in the 200 block of Tozier Avenue.
On Sunday, a domestic disturbance occurred between two females in the 200 block of South Brady Street. One female’s daughter alerted her father that her mother and a girlfriend were fighting, and she was scared. The father called police to check her welfare. Police made contact with the two females and learned everything was OK.
At 2:02 a.m. Monday, police were dispatched for a possible burglary in progress at a business along West Long Avenue. The residents who live above the business reported hearing someone in the business downstairs. When they went to investigation, they discovered the business’ side door was wide open. They called 911 and waited for police. Police didn’t locate anyone in the business or any signs of burglary.
