MAHAFFEY – Gant news partner WJACTV.com reported that emergency responders confirmed with 6News that a state police fire marshal and the coroner were called to a house fire in Clearfield County on Wednesday night.
Firefighters from across Clearfield, Jefferson and Indiana counties were called to a home on Bracken Road in Bell Township shortly before 9:30 p.m.
Authorities said a woman found inside the home was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters told 6News that they encountered problems with getting water to the scene and the fire spreading through remodeled portions of the home.
Investigators have not released the identity of the victim or determined what sparked the deadly fire.
