CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Michael Schake, age 20, of Morrisdale.
Schake was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on April 16, 2012.
On Oct. 6, 2011, Patrolman Nathan Curry of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Schake with: 1) possession of a controlled substance, M; 2) use or possession of drug paraphernalia, M, 2 counts; and 3) driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, S.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Curry states that on Sept. 30, 2011, the Clearfield Borough Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle operated by Schake on South Front Street in Clearfield Borough. Upon making contact with Schake, Officers observed drug paraphernalia and marijuana inside the vehicle. It was also found the Schake’s operating privileges had been suspended.
A preliminary hearing was held on Oct. 19, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court.
In a separate case, Patrolman Daniel Farley of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a criminal complaint on June 27, 2011 charging Schake with: 1) adulterate or misbrand any controlled substance, M; 2) harassment, S; and 3) disorderly conduct, S.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Farley states that on April 13, 2011, the Clearfield Borough Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of North Third Street for the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival at the scene the victim reported that she and Schake had being arguing, and that Schake had grabbed and shoved her. Schake was apprehended and found to be in possession of misbranded prescription medication.
A preliminary hearing was held on Aug. 3, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court.
On April 10, 2012, Schake failed to appear for both cases at plea and sentencing court and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw stated that on April 20, 2012, Officers from the Clearfield Borough Police Department apprehended Schake and he was taken into custody. Schake is currently lodged in the Clearfield County jail.
