DUBOIS – A 40-year-old Clearfield man has been jailed after being accused of simple assault and other offenses following a domestic incident Tuesday night.
The DuBois City Police Department identified the accused as Bryan Lynn Gillingham, 40, of Clearfield. He’s been charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
According to the incident report, police were dispatched for a domestic disturbance at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Liberty Boulevard. At arrival police heard a female who was inside a motel room yelling at someone to leave her alone.
Then, police heard what appeared to sound like something being smashed. The female again began yelling at someone to stop and leave her alone. After entering the room, the female victim accused Gillingham of beating her.
She told police Gillingham grabbed her by the throat and started choking her. In addition, she told police he punched her in the face with a closed fist. After speaking with the female and observing evidence at the scene, he was placed under arrest and in the Clearfield County Jail.
Gillingham’s bail was set at $25,000 monetary. His preliminary hearing has been set for 10:15 a.m. April 27 before Magisterial District Judge Patrick N. Ford.
