Horatio J. “Spook” Lumadue, 85, of Spring Valley, PA passed away on April 10, 2012 at his home.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1927, in Spring Valley, the son of Joseph Burton and Duella (Varner) Lumadue.
Mr. Lumadue retired from Cleveland Brothers and was owner and operator of Lumadue Greenhouse in Spring Valley.
He was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lumadue is survived by three children: Robert Lee Lumadue of West Decatur, Horatio John Lumadue, Jr and his wife, Jill, and Violet “Jane” Lumadue of Spring Valley; four grandchildren: Trudy, Kathy Sue, Nichole, and Elizabeth; and a great granddaughter, Bailey Fletcher. He is also survived by two sisters, Edna Kephart of Clearfield and Lilliam Wisor of Spring Valley and a brother William Lumadue and his wife, Elva of West Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Violet M. “Skippy” (Nelson) Lumadue whom passed away on Jan. 12, 1989, and who he married on June 9, 1945, five brothers: Verdun, Fred, Jerome, Hollis, and Robert Lumadue, and an infant sister, Vada Lumadue.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on April 14 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Beistine officiating. Interment will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on April 13 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hours of the services.
