UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State junior forward Mia Nickson (Ashburn, Va.) was one of the five players selected to the NCAA Tournament Kingston All-Region team. Nickson was 8-for-12 from the field on the way to 19 points in Penn State’s Regional Semifinal loss to Connecticut Sunday (March 25).
Nickson also added five rebounds, including three on the offensive glass, two steals, one assist and one block against the Huskies. The 19-point performance was the second-best scoring outing of the season for the junior. Nickson is the 10th player to earn All-Region team accolades and the first since Kelly Mazzante was on the East All-Region team in 2004.
Joining Nickson on the Kingston All-Region team are UConn’s Tiffany Hayes, the region’s Most Outstanding Player, and Stefanie Dolson, Kentucky’s Samarie Walker and Gonzaga’s Kayla Standish.
