HOLLIDAYSBURG —According to WJACTV.com, a Blair County jury has found a man guilty of first degree murder for fatally shooting two people during a sandwich shop robbery.
Closing arguments were made Tuesday in the trial of 31-year-old Nicholas Horner, of Altoona. Horner is accused of killing 19-year-old Scott Garlick, a Subway sandwich shop clerk, and 64-year-old Raymond Williams, who was a bystander, on April 6, 2009.
Prosecutors wanted the jury to convict Horner of first-degree murder and sentence him to death. Now the jury will meet on Wednesday morning to decide if Horner deserves the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
