According to WJACTV.com, Blair County is exploring the idea of establishing a specialty court just for veterans, according to a report published Monday.
Tom Shea, director of the county’s adult parole and probation office, told the Altoona Mirror that officials are trying to determine if such a court is needed within the criminal justice system.
Special courts for veterans charged in nonviolent crimes already exist in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and seven other sites in Pennsylvania.
