CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of March 26, 2012.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Megan Watlack, age 23, of Washington Avenue, Hyde, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that Watlack is wanted in three separate cases for failure to appear at Criminal Call on March 22, 2012.
On Sept. 22, 2011, Officer Michael Morris of the Lawrence Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint charging Watlack with: 1) theft by unlawful taking or disposition, M1, 2 counts; and 2) receiving stolen property, M1, 2 counts.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Morris states that in July and September 2011, the Lawrence Township police began an investigation into thefts that occurred at two Clearfield County residences. Upon further investigation it was found that Watlack had stolen $1,100.00 from a residence on Meadow Road in Clearfield, and had stolen $170.00 from a residence on Ridge Avenue in Curwensville.
A preliminary hearing was held on Nov. 2, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court.
In a separate case, Officer Julie Wehler of the Lawrence Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint on Sept. 22, 2011 charging Watlack with: 1) theft by unlawful taking or disposition, M1; and 2) receiving stolen property, M1.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Wehler states that on Sept. 19, 2011, the Lawrence Township police received a report of a theft of two rings from a residence in Lawrence Township. Upon further investigation it was found that Watlack had stolen the two rings which were valued at approximately $500.00.
A preliminary hearing was held on Nov. 2, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court.
In a separate case, Wehler filed a riminal complaint on Sept. 22, 2011 charging Watlack with: 1) possession of drug paraphernalia, M; and 2) possession of a small amount of marijuana, M.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Wehler states that on Sept. 18, 2011 the Lawrence Township police were dispatched to a Lawrence Township business for a report of suspected drug activity. Upon arrival, Officer Wehler observed drug paraphernalia and a bag of marijuana in a room that was occupied by Watlack and another individual.
A preliminary hearing was held on Nov. 2, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court.
On March 22, 2012, Watlack failed to appear for all three cases at criminal call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
