CLEREMONT – A fire caused by a faulty grill caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage to a Cleremont residence located at 14 King Road at 5:35 p.m. Thursday in Sergeant Township, McKean County, the Ridgway-based state police reported.
According to the report, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Cleremont Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire damaged a two-story, wooden frame residence.
The residence belonged to Patricia A. Miller of Cleremont. No injuries were reported, however. The fire originated on the front porch and was caused by a faulty propane grill and ruled accidental in nature, state police said.
