Evelyn Marino, 85, of Treasure Lake in DuBois died Saturday at Nelson’s Golden Years in DuBois.
Born Dec. 31, 1926 in Covode in Indiana County, she was the daughter of the late Jay B. and Lillian M. Sutter.
She married the late John A. Marino Jr. on Nov. 5, 1949. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2007.
A graduate of the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing, she worked in the Clearfield Hospital for many years and later as a nurse-receptionist for Dr. Carmella Lugue.
Mrs. Marino was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the Clearfield Hospital Nurses’ Alumni Association, AARP. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and sewing.
She is survived by her son, Dr. John A Marino III of Cleveland, OH; her daughter, Virginia Marino of Altoona; and three grandchildren, John A Marino IV of Charleston, SC; Christopher Marino of Cleveland, OH; and Matthew Marino of Harrisburg; one sister, Jane Kropinak of Covode; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Luella Barrett, Geraldine Hewitt and Edna Williard and one brother, Karl Sutter.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
