UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Redshirt freshman Connor Curry (Newport Beach, Calif.) was named the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday (March 12). This is the second honor of Curry’s career.
Curry helped Penn State in two battles with top 15 teams, including No. 10 Pepperdine and No. 4 USC on the road. Against the Waves on March 8, Curry was second on the team with seven digs. He also had zero reception errors in 35 attempts. On March 9 versus the Trojans, Curry had a team-best 10 digs and had just one error in 20 reception attempts. For the weekend, Curry averaged 2.12 digs per set.
Penn State continues play on the road at Saint Francis on Saturday, March 17. Action is set for 7 p.m.
