CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Borough Police Department responded to the intersection of South Third and Bridge streets for a three-vehicle accident that injured six people at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday.
A vehicle operated by Donald Powell of Clearfield was exiting the CVS Pharmacy parking lot and traveling onto North Third Street. At the same time, another operated by Charlene Hoch, of Sykesville was on North Third Street, making a left-hand turn onto Bridge Street.
As the Powell vehicle entered into the intersection, it struck the Hoch vehicle. After impact, the Powell vehicle accelerated, traveling into the Napa parking lot before returning to Bridge Street and striking another vehicle operated by Dennis Demchak of Clearfield.
Six people were transported to the Clearfield Hospital for treatment. Five were released from the hospital, while Powell was admitted for observation, police said.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Clearfield Fire Department, Clearfield Fire Police and Clearfield Emergency Medical Services. Two vehicles were towed from the scene by A. J. Ross Towing.
