6 p.m. – Owl Prowl
Owls are amazing, specialized birds, and Pennsylvania is home to several species … everything from the diminutive saw-whet to the “tiger of the air”… the great horned owl.
Join the park naturalist for a fascinating look at these superb predators and their adaptations. The program includes a short hike along the northernmost section of the Lowlands Trail to listen for their distinctive calls.
Participants should meet at the Wildlife Center along Park Road near the Cameron-Potter county line. The trail difficulty is easy. The park staff suggests you bring a flashlight and dress appropriately for the weather.
Saturday, March 10
1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – GPS Basics
Join the Sinnemahoning State Park naturalist for a fun and informative program on the operation and use of GPS receiver units. You’ll learn how to read latitude and longitude, mark waypoints, and locate geo-caches, along with other functions. Bring your own unit, or borrow one of ours. You’ll be navigating like a pro in no time!
Participants should meet at the Wildlife Center/park office on Park Road near the Cameron/Potter County line.
