Margaret A. “Peg” Knowles, 96, of Windy Hill Village died Friday in Philipsburg. Born Sept. 9, 1915 in Morrisdale, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Violet (Pritchard) Lloyd. She was the last of her generation.
Mrs. Knowles was a 1934 graduate of the Morris Township High School. She was a beautician and the owner of the Knowles Beauty Salon for 52 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg
On Jan. 4, 1938 in Morrisdale, she married Job “Joby” Knowles, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William Lloyd, Jack Lloyd and Lewis Lloyd
She’s survived by two nieces Jean Lloyd of Philipsburg and Joan Henwood of Highlands Ranch, CO.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date and time and is to be announced. Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
